Walter Tylek

Walter Tylek of Woodstock, Ontario, died on August 17, 2026, at the age of 104. He was predeceased by his parents, Mikolaj and Stefania (Pulchna) Tylek, and his former spouse, Cecylia. He is survived by his sister, Alicja Sroka of Krakow; his wife, Vera; his children Donna Janik (late John) of Woodstock, Michael Tylek (Pat) of Calgary, Alberta, Christine Hilstad (Jim) of Gibsons, British Columbia, Krystyna Yerex (late Brett) of Sarnia, and Lisebeth Gatkowski of Toronto; his grandchildren David, Sonia Janik, Christian, Aaron Tylek, Brittany Burton, Cody Hilstad, Sam Hilstad, Master, Anthony Soltys, Barbara Taylor (John) of Toronto, Danielle Soltys-Crone (Neil) of Mississauga, and Chloe Gatkowski-Manigat (Pablo Vio) of Toronto; his great‑grandchildren Luna and Violet Burton, Brittany Soltys, Sydney, Cameron, Olivia Taylor, Damien Crone, Alex and Lyra Gatkowski‑Vio; and his great‑great‑grandchild Remy Soltys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Smith‑LeRoy Chapel, 69 Wellington St N, Woodstock, ON. A funeral Mass followed at 11:30 a.m. on the same day at Holy Cross Polish Parish, 169 Ingersoll Rd, Woodstock, ON.
