Gerrit Westra

Gerrit Westra of Woodstock, Ontario, passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 94. He was born on May 11, 1932. He was predeceased by his wife Helen, his parents Oane and Sytske, and his brothers David and Cecil. He is survived by his sister Jenny; his children Alan (married to Jessica), Harold (married to Murrielle) and Dean; his grandchildren Sharon, Scott (married to Serena), Megan, Vivian, Gerrit and Dakota; and his great‑grandchildren Gerrit, Iris and Lennon. Visitation was held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Smith‑LeRoy Chapel, 69 Wellington St N, Woodstock, ON N4S 6P7, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
