Wayne MacDonald Whitfield

Wayne MacDonald Whitfield passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 4, 2026, at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Ellen. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Jean, and their children, Susan and her husband Matthew Simpson, Steven and his wife Natasha, and David and his wife Stephanie. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Chloe, Evan, Katia, Zaro, Petra, Ivy, Molly, and Max. Wayne is also survived by his in-laws, June James, Janet and Richard Bradley, and Wendy Neff, as well as Cliff Velzy and his 'adopted sons', Maher and Ayman Daoud, Ayman's wife Rawan, and their son Joud. Born in Windsor, Wayne was a graduate of the University of Windsor and had a varied career, including teaching and working at Chrysler for 30 years. He was an active volunteer with his church and the Unemployed Help Centre. A visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel on August 11 and 12, followed by a procession to Victoria Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lion's Club.
