Rita Teresina (nee Iosa) TORTI

Rita Teresina Torti, nee Iosa, passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 89, just one month shy of her 90th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Raffaele and Caterina Iosa, and her parents-in-law, Federico and Marietta Torti. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Sr. and a loving mother to Fernando Jr., David, and Cathy Evanyk. She was a proud Nonna to Ryan Evanyk. Rita is also predeceased by her siblings, Pineta, Maria, Francesco, Giovanni, Anna, and Elio, and is survived by her sister-in-law, Giovanna Garofalo, as well as many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. She is also survived by her siblings-in-law, Iole and Antonio Pallisco, and Adriano and Antonietta Torti. Born in Mestre, Italy, Rita immigrated to Boston at the age of 19, where she met and married her husband, Fernando Sr. She worked in administrative positions with insurance companies in the US and in food service in Canada. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and tending to her flower gardens. The family would like to thank the staff at Banwell Gardens Care Centre and the medical staff at Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus for their care. Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - South Chapel, followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church, with entombment to follow.
