Mrs Margaret Sharon, Irene Mersch (Gubby)

Margaret Sharon Irene Mersch passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 82, in Windsor, Ontario. Born on January 28, 1944, to the late Harley Hyland and Irene Hyland, she was predeceased by her spouse Peter Mersch, her mother-in-law Eva Mersch, father-in-law John Mersch, son Mark Mersch, brother Mark Hyland, sisters Nancy Vella and Pamela Lemire, brothers-in-law Philip Mersch and John Mersch, and sister-in-law Jean Mersch. Margaret is survived by her sons Peter Mersch and his wife Louise, Kurt Mersch, and her daughter Eva Beattie and her husband Rodger. She is also survived by her brother Robert Hyland and his wife Helen, and sister-in-law Betty Mersch. Margaret was a cherished grandmother of Kathy Donaldson, Lauren Beattie, Brett Beattie, Jacqueline Mersch, Brendan Beattie, Adrian Arnone, Alex Arnone, and Max Mersch, and a great-grandmother of Hailey McGregor, Adeline Donaldson, and the late Kylie McGregor. She worked as an ECE teacher at ABC Daycare and Dougall Avenue Daycare, and later dedicated her time to caring for her grandchildren. Margaret volunteered at Versa Care Nursing Home, where she would sing to the residents with her husband, and found joy in teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir.
