Mary Kay Amlin
Mary Kay Amlin of Amherstburg, Ontario, passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on October 10, 1946, she was surrounded by family, friends, and community throughout her life. Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Ron James Amlin; her children, Sara (Andrew Russell), Steven (Brittany Amlin), Jeff (Joy Amlin), and Sheri (Jamie Rilett); her grandchildren, Nick (Haley), Natalie (Jacob), Ethan, Madison, Avery, Carter, Lochlan, Brooklyn, and Everett; and her great-grandchild, Benjamin. She was the daughter of Hank MacFarlane (Henry) and Katherine MacFarlane (Forbes), and is also survived by her siblings, Jean Merritt (Blake) of Wallaceburg and Jere MacFarlane (Olga) of Calgary, Alberta. Mary Kay will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Mike (Helen), Dan (Jandra), Maureen, Brian (Joni), Patti Jean (Joe), and Peggi Anne (Leonard), as well as her cousins, Jim Switzer and Anne Frazie Winters (Randy). Visitation will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Families First Amherstburg, located at 585 Sandwich St S, Amherstburg, ON N9V3W3. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Munger St W, Essex, ON N0R1G0. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice.
