Lawrence LaBute

Lawrence LaBute passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 81. He was the loving husband of Nancy, and cherished father of Michelle, David, Jeffrey, and Stephen. He was proud Papa of Haley, Hannah, Renée, Nolan, and Aubrey. Lawrence was the son of the late Ulric and Marie, and brother to Mary Ann Lee, and predeceased by siblings Kay Peterson, Paul, Pauline Steinhoff, Richard, and Edward. He is also survived by brother-in-law Neil, and the late Terry, Ken, and Tim. Lawrence began his career at Hiram Walker & Sons, and went on to work for OnFreight Logistics and Dainty Foods. He was an avid musician and played in the original Brand 'X' Band and Lookin' Back. Lawrence was a generous person who coached T-ball at the LaSalle Turtle Club and offered a lending hand to family and friends. He was an enthusiastic Tigers and Red Wings fan, and an active member of the Riverside Sportsmen Club, serving as Secretary for a number of years. Lawrence loved playing euchre with friends Judy, Catherine, and Gary, and enjoyed Joan's soup. His family would like to thank the HDGH 3rd Fl.
