Irene Shuttleworth (nee Corbishdale) Silcox

Irene Shuttleworth (nee Corbishdale) Silcox passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 99, at Extendicare Southwood Lakes. Born in England to Fred and Eunice Corbishdale, Irene was the youngest daughter and came to Canada with her family. She was predeceased by her sister Doris in 1980, her first husband William (Bill) Shuttleworth in 1991, and her second husband Rev. Canon Bertram Silcox in 2008. Irene was a devoted member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, where she worked in the church office for many years. She had a passion for travel, philosophy, and the arts. Irene is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, particularly her nephew Paul. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Extendicare for their compassionate care. Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will be held at Victoria Memorial Gardens on July 29 at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Paul Silcox. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Salvation Army of Canada or another charity of choice.
