Giacomo Messina

The family announces the passing of Giacomo Messina in Windsor, Ontario, on September 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 16, 1936, Giacomo was a beloved member of his family and community. He was predeceased by his sibling, Felice Messina. Giacomo is survived by his wife, Girolama "Mimma" Messina; his children, Gaspare (late Mariella), Vincenzo (Connie), and Maria Rubino (Gaspare); and his grandchildren, Cassandra (Marco), Gabriella (Ryan), Nick, Jake, Gene (Jessica), Rocco (Angie), Ellyana, and Bis-Nonno of Kassem, Amelia, Gemma, and Giana. He is also survived by his sister, Maria D'Angelo (Antonio), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a prayer service from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM at the Windsor Chapel Banwell Chapel. A procession will occur on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:20 AM, followed by a graveside service at Heavenly Rest Cemetery from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
