Barbara Lee Coates of Windsor, Ontario, passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Carl, her stepson Carl Jr. Coates, and her parents Dr. Leo Yack and Eileen. Survivors include her children Jayne Casanova, Kim Bertrand, Barbara‑Jo Muir (married to Steve), Terra Coates (late Joe), Shannon Wielczopolski (married to Jeff), Steven Coates (married to Dawn), Lillian Evans (married to Duck) and Bernard Coates (married to Jody); stepdaughters Pennie Robinson, Joy Coates and Julie Coates; and friend Denise Johnson‑Andrey. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Email Notes Parish, 3260 Dougall Avenue, Windsor, ON. A prayer service followed at 4:30 p.m. the same day at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial took place on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 4401 Mt Royal Drive, Windsor, ON. The family requests that donations be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation or the Ontario Lung Association.
