Robert Embrey

Robert Embrey, known to family as Bob and to his mother and sister as Jack, passed away in August 2026. He was survived by his three step‑children, Kim, Jim and Michelle, and their son Stephen, as well as grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Diane, who died three months earlier. In his later years he wrote hand‑written fictional novels and short stories, and was noted for his dry humor and love of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Visitation was held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, on Monday, August 10, from 11:00 a.m. until the service in the Barnes Chapel at 12:30 p.m., followed by interment at Groveside Cemetery. The family requests donations to the SickKids Foundation in lieu of flowers.
