Gregory Young

Gregory George Young, a former accountant and accomplished trumpet player, died after a brief battle with lung cancer, aged 75. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and spent his youth moving across the province as a member of an Air Force family, experiences that fostered his independence and resilience. His professional life was marked by intelligence and determination, while his personal passions included music, travel to Costa Rica and Nicaragua where he lived for more than a decade, and regular evenings playing Euchre with friends. He was a devoted father and cherished his role as "Papa," finding his greatest joy in his granddaughters, Taylor and Louisa. He is survived by his children Sheona (married to Paul) and David (married to Hannah); his brothers Jay (married to Susan) and Chris (married to Jamie); and his granddaughters Taylor and Louisa, along with extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lenora and Robert Young, his sister Shelley, his eldest brother Bob (married to Ginette) who passed away six days earlier, and his brother Bob.
