Cheryl Coverley
Cheryl Lynn Coverley passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 18, 2026, at the age of 73. She was the beloved mother of Cari-Anne De Ciccio and her husband Vince, and was predeceased by her daughter Traci Jewer (Glen) and her father, the late Ronald. Cheryl was a daughter of Muriel Martin. She is survived by her siblings Debbie Martin, Marilyn Speziali, Karen Hussey (whose husband Bob predeceased her), Dale Martin (with spouse Linda), Darla Riley (whose husband Garth predeceased her), and Jo‑anne Mattis (with spouse Donevan), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Her grandchildren are Kyle (partner Krista) and Matthew (partner Abigail); her great‑grandchildren are Georgia, Bobby, Tucker and Benjamin. Cheryl completed secondary school, earned an honours diploma in social work from Loyalist College in her late twenties, and later worked as a sales lady for Sears in Pickering before a three‑decade career as a customer service representative for General Motors. She was known for her cooking and large family gatherings and lived with her aging mother until her final moments. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral officiated by Reverend Nicole Lahaie at 11:00 a.m. at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, with a simple reception thereafter.
