Ronald Roch Lessard

Ronald Roch Lessard passed away on February 23, 2026, in Welland, ON. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Rachelle Lessard; and their children, Kim (Brian) Warner, Sherry Stephens, Rob (Chrystel) Lessard, and Randy Lessard. He was a grandfather to Joshua (Victoria) Ramunno, Brayden Lessard, Kyra Stephens, and Evan Stephens. He had the gift of being a great-grandfather to Jacksen, Caleb, and Bowen Ramunno. He is survived by his siblings, Denise (John) Chiki, Normand (Cathy) Lessard, Raymond (Dana) Lessard, and Jacques Lessard. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Arthur Jolin, Norine (Ken) Chupa, Pauline McAninch, Suzanne Rose, and Rosanne (Ed) Jolin. He was predeceased by his parents, Noel and Yvette Lessard; his father and mother-in-law, Napoleon and Norine Jolin; his brothers-in-law, Peter (Jill) Jolin, David Rose; and his sister-in-law, Lina St. Pierre. Ron volunteered his time with the Welland Minor Hockey Association for 20+ years, coaching and serving on the executive board. He enjoyed sports, especially hockey, and followed the Niagara IceDogs for eight years. He also cheered on the Boston Bruins. Born and raised in Welland, he remained a lifelong resident of the community. Ron worked for ES Fox for 38 years before enjoying his retirement. He was proud of his milestone of being sober for 23 years. In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
