Nicholas Hominuk

Nicholas 'Nick' Hominuk passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 84. He was surrounded by his loving family at Northland Pointe Long Term Care Home. Nick was devoted to his beloved wife, Barbara, the love of his life and sweetheart of nearly 60 years. He will be forever cherished by his beloved children, Andrea (Marc) and Chris (Jen), and was a devoted and loving Grandpa to Sophie and Nolan. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, David (Nijole), Rick (Trish); and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Rick Puszczalowski, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Predeceased by his parents, Nicholas Sr. and Olga Hominuk. Nick proudly served for over 30 years and retired as a Fire Captain with the Welland Fire Department. He was honoured for his achievements with induction into the Welland Sports Wall of fame for his time with the Welland Merchants Ice Hockey team. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, February 14th, in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Friday, February 13th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to Northland Pointe in honour of Nick would be appreciated by the family.
