David Gordon BARRETT

David Gordon Barrett passed away on April 27, 2026, in his 96th year. Born on September 13, 1930, David lived a long and meaningful life marked by devoted family ties and public service. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Louise and his daughters, Karen of Welland, Susan of Welland (Brian), and Kimberley of Mississauga (Ken); and is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Rose Gillam (Charlie) of Mount Pearl, NL. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gaila; his parents and his brothers. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy, David went on to serve as city clerk of Welland for 25 years and held leadership roles with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and Niagara and Ontario health organizations. A service will be held at J.J. Patterson & Sons, Welland, on May 9, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Health Foundation in David's memory.
