Catherine "Cathy" SERNASIE

Catherine Sernasie passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 70. Born to Irene and John, she was the loving daughter of her predeceased parents. Cathy is survived by her siblings, Linda (MacDougall), Mary (Nunnemaker), and Dan, as well as her nieces and nephews, Amanda, Curtis, Katie, Andrew, Shealyn, and Grace. She was predeceased by her parents. Cathy had a zest for life and enjoyed various activities, including bowling, swimming, and reading. She was a parishioner at St. Andrew's Church for decades and had a life-long passion for books. Cathy's life was enriched by her involvement with The Association for Community Living, Welland, Pelham, where she participated in the Independent Living program and worked at ARC Industries workshop. The family will receive friends at J.J Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life lunch at Pleasantview Funeral Home Reception Centre.
