Carole SCHERTZING

Carole Schertzing, née Hardy, died peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Foyer Richelieu in Welland, aged 69. She was survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry; their sons Brad (married to Stephanie) and Brent (married to Malisa); and three grandchildren, Remington, Logan and Evey. Her mother, Aline, and four siblings—Denis (married to Christine) Hardy, Lorraine (the late Yvon) Labonté, Patrick (married to Fran) Hardy, and Paul (married to Tammy) Hardy—also survive her. Her father, Léonce Hardy, preceded her in death. Carole was known for her warm personality, talent in interior design, and love of creative pursuits. The family thanks the staff at Foyer Richelieu for their care. Visitation will be held at H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., with online condolences accepted at www.cudneyfuneralhome.com.
