Yvonne Lorena Crnko

Yvonne Lorena Crnko passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at WRHN @ Midtown on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in her 90th year, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of Fred for over 59 years. Yvonne was the loving mother of Andrew Crnko (Julia) and Diana Desormeau (Bob), and proud grandma of Kayla (Colin) and Logan. She was the daughter of the late Lorena and William Gerber. Yvonne was a graduate of Sheppard School and Kitchener Collegiate Institute. Early in her working life, Yvonne was the secretary to the Kitchener Chief of Police, and later on worked with the Region of Waterloo at Doon Heritage Crossroads. Yvonne was a lifelong member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, served Loaves and Fishes, and was a participant in the Prayer Circle. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Matthews Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
