William "Bill" Lewis MARR

William Lewis Marr, Professor Emeritus, passed away suddenly on July 2, 2026, at Grand River Hospital, after a brief illness, at the age of 82. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marion Jane Marr, and their children, Jennifer Bigioni and her husband David, and Peter Marr and his wife Angela. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Joseph Bigioni, Isabella Bigioni, Logan Marr, and Kenzy Marr. Bill is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Eleanor Monds. He was predeceased by his parents, Myrtle and Lewis Marr, his in-laws, Jean and Kenneth Little, and his brother-in-law, Bill Monds. Born on March 25, 1944, Bill spent his childhood in Waterdown, Ontario, and went on to graduate from Waterdown District High School. He then studied history and economics at McMaster University, where he graduated with honours in 1966, and later earned his MA and Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. Bill will be remembered for his love of golf, bridge, and time spent with friends and family.
