Thomas Oakes

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Thomas Oakes in Waterloo, Ontario, on October 7, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, George Oakes and Elizabeth Oakes, as well as his siblings, Francie Friess, Betty "Joan" Carey, Ann Bennett, and George "Bud" Oakes. Thomas is survived by his wife, Carol; his sons, Shaun (Jackie) and Michael (Darlene); his grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Avery, and Hayden; and his sisters, Mary Zellmann and Kathy Flicher. Visitation took place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, located at 171 King St S, Waterloo, ON N2J1P7. A memorial service followed on the same day from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterloo Regional Cancer Centre through the WRHN Foundation.
