Laurence ORR

Laurence Orr passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by family at WRHN Chicopee. Born on June 27, 1939, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he is survived by his children, Colin, Paul, Alan, Gillian, and Stephen, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, his parents, Robert and Agnes, his sister, Ray, his brother-in-law, Garry, and his son, Robert. Laurence had a distinguished career as a police officer, first with the Royal Ulster Constabulary in Northern Ireland and later with the Waterloo Regional Police in Ontario. He was also a talented musician, having been a member of several bands in the region. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at WRHN Chicopee for their wonderful care. A visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on August 14, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WRHN Foundation or the Food Bank of Waterloo region.
