Jean Elizabeth SIMPSON
Jean Elizabeth Simpson passed away peacefully at the Columbia Forest Long Term Care Home in Waterloo on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the age of 94. Born in Stratford on June 13, 1931, to the late Laura (née Rudolph) and George Forbeck, Jean was one of six siblings, all of whom predeceased her. She married Charlie in 1951 and raised their five children in Kitchener. Jean is survived by her children, Jeff (Mary), Jim (Peggy), Marna Schiebel (Paul), and Carol Hall (Tom), as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Ross Simpson and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 2020, her son Chuck in 2011, and her daughter-in-law Lydia in 2014. A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Ave., Kitchener on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12 noon. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
