Irene Katherine ROSE (nee Hiuser)

Irene Katherine Rose, née Hiuser, died peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, at The Village of Winston Park LTC in Waterloo. She was the beloved wife of the late Sidney Rose and Norman J. Bortz, and the mother of Norman (Bruce), Nancy, Jack and Kay. Irene was a cherished grandmother to Jane and Brad, Kim, John and Karen, Ryan and Jenn, Carrie and Noel, and a great‑grandmother to Sidney, Cassidy, Jackie, Benton, James, Amy, Jack, Brooke, Caleb and Noelle. Born in Kitchener, she enjoyed gardening and creating paintings for her family. A visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room until 1 p.m. A private graveside service will be arranged later, and she will be interred at Woodland Cemetery in Kitchener. Flowers are welcome, and donations may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (Kitchener) through the funeral home.
