George FREY

George Frey of Waterloo, Ontario, passed away on August 24, 2026, at PeopleCare A.R. Goudie, at the age of 90. He is survived by his beloved wife, Almeda, and their children, David (Valerie) and Brian (Heidi). George was a proud grandfather to Andrew, Kendrik, Sarah, Mackenzie, Julia, Lauren, and Heather. As the oldest of ten siblings, he is remembered by his brothers and sisters, including Harvey, Sue Howden, Naomi Smith (Laverne), and Anna Brubacher (Allan). He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Melinda Frey, as well as siblings Lena, Jake, Judy, Selina, and Emerson. The family expresses gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and PSWs for their compassionate care. Friends and relatives are invited to visit the Henry Walser Funeral Home on September 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on September 12 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception and interment at First Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Mennonite Central Committee are appreciated.
