Fern Alice Emily Shantz

Fern Alice Emily Shantz passed away on April 1, 2026, at Lanark Heights LTC, in Kitchener, ON, at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of Harold, who predeceased her in 2020. Fern was the cherished mother of Dennis (Lesley), Susan, Deborah, and Bradley (Catherine), and loving Nana of Chelsey (Jeff), Ty (Sam), Troy (Julia), Ava, and Sophie. She was also a great grandmother of Blayke and Rylie. Fern was predeceased by her siblings Gordon Ireland (late Doreen) and Marion Mullin (late Harold), as well as her siblings-in-law Dorothy, Ralph (late Marge), and Robert (late Carol). She is survived by her sister-in-law Alice (Fred), and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30-10:15 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 AM, followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery. Donations to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
