Ernest Waldemar Dyck
Ernest Waldemar Dyck passed peacefully into Glory on April 1, 2026, at the age of 97. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris (1930-1994). Ernest and Doris lived their entire married life in Kitchener, Ontario. Of Ernest's five siblings, four (David, William, Mary and Edward) predeceased him. He is survived by his sister, Katharine. Ernest studied accountancy and in 1958 earned his designation as a chartered accountant. Ernest and Doris made their church home first at First Baptist Waterloo, and later at Benton Street Baptist Kitchener. They had four children: Steven (Margaret), Sharilyn (d. 2019), Anneliese Bochenek (Hank), and Andrea Egilo (Mark). Ernest is survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Hendrik), Peter (Alexandra), Laura (Aaron), Jonathan (Kirsten), Jeremy (Melissa), Stephanie (Shawn) and Gillian (Brent), and four great-grandchildren Anneke and Isabella, Hadley, and Aberdeen. The family is immensely grateful to Radiant Care Pleasant View Manor, Virgil ON and to the medical team at the Walker Family Cancer Centre, St. Catharines ON for providing Ernest with such a friendly and caring environment for his last years. Friends are invited to a reception and celebration of life at the Concordia Club, 429 Ottawa St South, Kitchener, Friday, April 24, from 7-9 p.m.
