Ellen Lorraine Maki (nee Clarke)

Ellen Lorraine Maki passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 69, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton. Born on November 16, 1956, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Ellen was raised in Niagara-on-the-Lake and went on to earn degrees from the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto. She married her husband Brian on November 9, 1984, and they built a life together in the Toronto area and later in Dundas, Ontario. Ellen had a distinguished career as a statistician, founding Analytica Statistical Consulting Inc. in 1997 and serving as a Professor of Statistics at the University of Toronto. She is survived by her husband Brian, sisters Carol Goncz and Barbara Burgess, and her nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tallman Funeral Homes Ltd.
