Elinor Margaret Ableson

Elinor Margaret Ableson, of White Rock, BC, passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 82, following a brief and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born on October 19, 1943, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, she was the third of four children of Carl and Helen Ableson. Elinor completed her nursing education at the Hamilton Civic Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and began her career in southern Ontario before relocating to British Columbia in 1977. She dedicated the last 15 years of her career to palliative care, retiring in 2007. Elinor is survived by her sons, Michael Peacosh (Jessica) and Andrew Peacosh (Leanne), and her grandchildren Violet, Ryleigh, and Nathan. She is also remembered by her siblings, Shirley Infanti, Norma Buchan, and Bill Ableson, along with many nieces and nephews. Elinor will be laid to rest at Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Surrey, BC, with a celebration of her life scheduled for July 25, 2026, from 3 to 5 PM at the Sandringham in White Rock.
