James Cooke

James Cooke of Trenton, Ontario, passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 9, 1953, James was a beloved husband to Kelly Malonie and a devoted father to Shelly Cooke and David Cooke (April). He is survived by his parents, Alan and Joan Boersma, his sister Judy Ellis (Herb), stepsister Yvonne Hunter (Mike), and stepbrothers Rick Boersma (Mary) and Donnie Boersma (Nancy). James was a cherished grandfather to Annabella, Savannah, Audrey, Harper, Garrett, and Sabrina, and a loving stepfather to Virginia Risebrough Barns (Dan) and Christy and Cody Whitton. He will be remembered fondly by his nephews and nieces, including Steven and Michael Ellis, Matt, Jay, and Samantha Boersma, and Alex and Justin Hunter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Clinic at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
