VITTORIA VELLONE

Vittoria Vellone (nee Pileggi) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto, at the age of 96. Born on October 10, 1929, in Vallelonga, Province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria, she was the daughter of Giuseppe and Anna Pileggi. Vittoria and her husband, Salvatore, immigrated to Canada in 1962 with their four children. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Donna Iacobellis (and Frank), and sister-in-law, Irma Pileggi. She leaves behind her much-loved family: daughter, Josephine (Pina) Battaglia (née Vellone); son, Angelo (and Tina) Vellone; daughter, Anna Vellone; son, Joe Vellone (and Pat Hanson); her beloved granddaughter, Bianca Vittoria Hanson Vellone (and Alex Bono); and Pat's sons, Spencer and Thomas Fox. Visitation will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, on Friday, May 22nd, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at Church of St. Mary Magdalene, 477 Manning Avenue, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 12 p.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vittoria's memory to the Bridgepoint Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated.
