ROBERT WILLIAM SYDIA

Robert William Sydia passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 19, 1935, in Bissett, Manitoba, he spent most of his life in Toronto. Robert was raised by his mother, Mary, alongside his sister, Natalie, and brother, Walter, who predeceased him. He attended Central Tech, where he excelled in football and basketball, and represented his school on the Eaton Western Canada Tour in 1954. Robert graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1960 and later earned a master's degree in Business Administration from McMaster University. He was married to Beverley for over 63 years and is survived by their sons, Rob and Bradley, as well as their grandson, Haiden. Robert's career spanned over 30 years in Management Information Systems, which he ran with his family. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed skiing, squash, and tennis at the Cricket Club. Robert and his wife, Beverley, traveled extensively, with a special fondness for Barbados.
