ROBERT DOUGLAS WELLS
Robert Douglas Wells passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 58. Born in Toronto on November 1, 1967, he graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and from Centennial College with a Diploma in Environmental Protection Technology. Doug joined the Ontario Public Service in 2008 and was a Health and Safety Inspector, dedicated to protecting others. He was a passionate advocate for working people and an active member of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union. Doug was committed to supporting community causes and was a hardworking, unwavering individual who loved the outdoors and was most at home in the woods, on a lake, or in his vegetable garden. He enjoyed fishing, hot sauce, good meals, and time with family. Doug loved soccer and was a longtime supporter of the TFC and Liverpool FC. He was deeply proud of his Scottish heritage, right down to his prized kilt and thistle tattoo. Doug's greatest joy was his beloved dog, Happy, with whom he was inseparable. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wells (née Marin Cardona), and his family, including his mother, Heather MacLean; his stepmother, Anne Wells; his siblings and siblings-in-law, Scott Wells and Greg Edwards, Stephanie Wells and Fred Horler, David and Kate Wells, Beth and Joel Hasler; stepbrother Shawn MacLean; nieces and nephews, Zoe, Daniel, Tessa, Ruby, Henry, Maggie, Olivia, Mary, and Aili; and by his extended family, friends, and colleagues. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
