ROBERT "BOB" CRAWFORD
Robert 'Bob' Crawford was born in 1939 in Northern Ireland and died peacefully on February 28, 2026, at the age of 87, at The Wexford Residence. He was the son of Jean and John Crawford. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Alice Crawford, in 2012. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary, and her husband, Steve; his nieces, Paula, Liz, and Shannon; and his nephew, Kent. Bob's friends included Mel, Tyler, and Maureen. After moving to Toronto with his parents in 1949, Bob attended East York Collegiate and was a proud member of the De La Salle Drum Corps. He worked at Connaught Laboratories, graduated from York University, and earned a graduate degree from Niagara University. Bob later became a schoolteacher with the Scarborough Board of Education, where he was especially popular with his students at Lynnwood Heights Junior Public School. He was an avid reader, a collector of model airplanes, and a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Buffalo Bills, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The family would like to thank the staff at The Wexford Residence for the care and kindness they showed Bob. He has been cremated. A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Those who remember Bob may leave a tribute on the Ogden Funeral Home website. Donations in his memory may be made to women's or animal causes, or to The Wexford Residence.
