ROBERT ALLEN JANES

ROBERT ALLEN JANES passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on August 29, 1951, Rob was the son of Vivian and Hugh Janes, and the younger brother of Douglas. He was born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa and Winnipeg. Rob studied at Nipissing, Laurentian, and York Universities, earning a BA in History. He spent his career in financial services working at IAC, the Bank of Nova Scotia, Newcourt Credit Group, and finishing back at the bank, retiring in 2011. Rob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judith, in 2018. He leaves his daughters, Daniela and Andrea; and their mother, Dana; his sons-in-law, Matt and Robert; grandchildren, Ella, William, and Alice; his brother, Douglas; sister-in-law, Susan Macklam; his dear companion, Joyce Stewart; hosts of cousins; friends from every stage of life; and his dog, Coco. A celebration of Rob's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Ridley Funeral Home, Etobicoke.
