RICHARD DOUGLAS (DOUG) BROWN

Richard Douglas (Doug) Brown, P.Eng., passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on July 14, 1930, to John Connell Brown and Marion Gertrude Fox, Doug was raised in Toronto alongside his sisters, Dorothy and Marjorie, both of whom predeceased him. He married Adele Caroline in 1953, who also predeceased him, and together they raised a family. Doug later found love with Elinor Archambault, who predeceased him as well. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Carol, and stepson, Bob, and his wife, Margaret, while also mourning the loss of his son, Keith. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in Engineering Physics, Doug began his career at Ontario Hydro, where he formed lasting friendships until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed problem-solving, flying, and games like sudoku and cribbage. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no service. Donations in his memory may be made to the International Essential Tremor Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
