PETER OSCAR SCARGALL
Peter Oscar Scargall, born on April 17, 1928, in Saskatoon, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 97. He was the devoted partner of Peter Birnbaum and resided in Toronto. Peter grew up in a large family that worked on a prairie farm before transitioning to house construction in Dundas, Ontario. A pioneer in his family, he attended McMaster University and later took a teaching position in England. He pursued the Anglican priesthood, earning a Divinity degree from the University of Toronto. After ordination, he served as dean of the Anglican cathedral in Nassau, Bahamas, where his daughters, Brynne and Bettina, were born, followed by his son, Paul, in Saskatoon. Peter later transitioned to a career in psychotherapy. He and Peter Birnbaum shared a loving relationship for 28 years, united by their love for classical music and the simple joys of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local food banks.
