MIHAJLO (MICHAEL) DIKA
Mihajlo (Michael) Dika peacefully passed away at the age of 85 on June 28, 2026, in Toronto, Canada. He was born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, to his parents, Kostadinka Arsenska Dika and Janko Dika. After graduating from Law School at the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, he became the youngest judge in Macedonia, with his legal career continuing for 8 years. In 1973, he left the legal profession and became a diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yugoslavia. His first foreign posting was at the Embassy of Yugoslavia in Stockholm, Sweden, followed by a posting at the Embassy of Yugoslavia in Washington D.C., USA, and finally serving as the last Consul General of Yugoslavia in Toronto, Canada. Canada became the new home for the Dika family, where he started his third career, as a businessman. He was heavily involved with the Macedonian community in Toronto and developed strong ties with different organizations and individuals. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mara Dika; his son, Robert Dika; daughter-in-law, Kim Dika; and grandson, Michael Dika. A service will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Boulevard, Toronto, on July 4, 2026, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., with the service at 2:00 p.m.
