MARY LOUISE OAKES, KC

Mary Louise Oakes (née Chisholm), KC, passed away peacefully in Toronto, at her residence in Briton House, early April 1, 2026, at the age of 96. Born in Toronto, September 9, 1929. She was the proud mother of Wally (Sue) and John (Jenn), and a loving grandmother of Scott (Charlotte), Matt, Collin, Allie, and Cam. Mary Louise was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Norman Chisholm, and her sisters, Norma, Alice Forrest (and her husband Don), and Ede Birkett (and her husband Charlie). A graduate of the University of Toronto, B.Sc., Nursing (1952), and called to the bar as a graduate of Osgoode Hall (1958). In accordance with her wishes, a private family service and burial has taken place. The family may be shared with at newediukfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund.
