MARGARET YACCATO

Margaret Elizabeth Yaccato passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 86, in the Palliative Care Unit at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, with her family by her side. Born on May 20, 1939, in Greenfield Park, Quebec, Margaret was raised in a close-knit family of six children. Despite modest means, her early years were filled with warmth and strong family bonds — values she carried forward throughout her life. Margaret enjoyed a long and respected career as a marine insurance broker, known for her integrity, sound judgment, and straightforward manner. Outside of her professional life, she found great pleasure in travel, card games, sports, and cooking, often bringing family and friends together around the table. She is lovingly remembered by her many friends and her large, devoted family. The family extends sincere thanks to The Neighbourhood Group and the medical teams who supported Margaret in her final years, with special appreciation to Jennifer Rae. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Those wishing to honour her memory may consider a donation to Michael Garron Hospital or The Neighbourhood Group.
