KATHLEEN GWYNNETH MARION SKEY THOMPSON
Kathleen Gwynneth Marion Skey Thompson passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on April 8, 1981, in Toronto to Michael and Lynda Thompson, Kate was a dedicated and adventurous individual who cared deeply for others. She attended school in Etobicoke and later excelled at Trinity College School, followed by studies in Life Sciences and Kinesiology at Queen's University. Kate worked as a ski instructor, boot fitter, and volunteer patrol on Blackcomb in Whistler. She then pursued a career in medicine, studying at the University of Toronto and completing specialty training in Ottawa. Kate was a skilled sailor and instructor at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, and she represented Canada at the World Junior Championships in Finland. She began her medical career at Royal Columbian Hospital in British Columbia and later joined the medical staff at the Whistler Health Centre, where she found a balance between her work as a physician and her love of the outdoors. Kate is survived by her parents, Michael and Lynda Thompson. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Humphrey Funeral Home.
