June Lillian McConnell

June Lillian McConnell passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2026, at the age of ninety-four, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of George, who predeceased her in 2021. Born in Mimico to Mary Jane Harding and Albert Walter Arding, June grew up in New Toronto. She married George, her childhood neighbor, in 1949, and together they built their family home in Alderwood. June took great pride in her large family, raising seven children: Judy (Barry), Carol (McCormack), Lynn (Comeau), Anne (Whalen), Paul (McConnell), Marilyn (Powers), and Murray (McConnell, predeceased 1981). She was also the proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. June will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
