José Augusto Da Ponte of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on February 9, 1930, José was a beloved husband to Luisa and a devoted father to José Manuel and Marta. He took great joy in his role as a grandfather to Marco, Christina, Andrew, and Matthew, and as a great-grandfather to Veronica, Elenor, and Vanessa. José's warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. José will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to share their condolences and memories during this time.
