John Donald Rodger
John Donald Rodger, born on January 6, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, surrounded by his children after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Louise MacGregor (2019), his parents, David (2004) and Nell (née Barbet) Rodger (2018), his brother, Thom Rodger (2004), and sisters, Janet Rodger-Anderson (2002) and Nelda Rodger (2023). John is survived by his children, Duncan and Caitlin Rodger, his granddaughter Remi Louise de Beus-Rodger, and his siblings: Sheila Rodger Faucher, Ed Rodger, Patti Rodger Kirkpatrick, Carolyn Rodger, and Andrea Rodger. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Engineering, John co-founded Iris Computer Planning, supporting early computer departments. He cherished outdoor adventures, especially fishing trips with friends and family. John and Mary shared a love for exploration, beginning with their travels across Europe in a VW van after their marriage in 1975.
