JEAN RODGER
Jean Rodger passed away peacefully in the early hours of May 15, 2026, at the age of 96, following a brief illness. Born with a spirit for adventure and a heart devoted to family, Jean lived a full and remarkable life. She was an avid traveller who explored many places throughout her years, yet Nova Scotia always held a special place in her heart. Her cherished cottage, lovingly known as 'The Hen House,' was one of her happiest places and the setting for many treasured memories. Jean had a deep passion for crafts, especially quilting and knitting. Through her creativity and care, she created countless handmade gifts and keepsakes that will continue to comfort and connect those who loved her. Growing up in Toronto, Jean was the second of five children. She is survived by her sister Margaret and now joins her other siblings, Alan, Ruth, and Barbara. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim, and her step-daughter, Margaret. She leaves behind her nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will remember her warmth, strength, humour, and love. The family would like to extend their gratitude to those who cared for Jean during her final days. The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Groves Hospital Foundation.
