JAMES HELLER

James George Heller passed away peacefully at his home in Toronto on July 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 30, 1940, to Helen and George Heller, he was predeceased by his parents and older brother Dean. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jennifer, his children Dalia and Nicholas, and his grandsons Mathis and Théodore. James studied at East York Collegiate and the University of Toronto, where he earned a PhD in Applied Mathematics. He was a distinguished epidemiologist, health economist, and advocate for climate action and human rights. A visitation will be held at Humphrey Funeral Home on July 23rd, followed by a service and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
