HERBERT SOHN

Herbert Sohn, born on April 5, 1929, passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 96. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, spent important years in Israel, but lived most of his life in Toronto. Herbert devoted his professional career to improving society in the areas of civil rights, the prevention of child abuse, and protecting children and the elderly. He is survived by his loving wife Edith, whom he recently celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary with. Herbert was a loving and supportive father to Arella, Amiram, Shani, Joshua, and Jeremy, grandfather to Jessica, Myren, Jacob, Cole, Pryor, and Mollie, and great-grandfather to Saige and Cameron. He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Gertrude, and his brother, Gerald. Herbert will also be missed by his loving sister-in-law, Shirley, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and love to Herbert's caregivers, Ola, Josephine, and their dear friend Rose.
