HENRY JOSEPH REINER

Henry Joseph Reiner passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 92. He was a well-known figure in the Beaches neighbourhood, where he was a constant presence throughout his life. Henry was a member of the Balmy Beach Club, where he played a pivotal role in introducing and growing beach volleyball in Canada, earning him the nickname 'Father of Beach Volleyball in Canada.' He worked as a firefighter in Toronto for over 31 years. Henry is survived by his four sons, Shannon, Morgan, Henry Jr., and Marcus; his four daughters-in-law, Vanessa, Leslie, Rebecca, and Caitlin; and his grandchildren, Alex, Roxy, William, Sebastian, Norman, and Felix. Funeral services will be held on February 7 at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto. Visitation will take place from 1-2 p.m., followed by a celebration of life from 2-3 p.m.
