FREDERICK JAMES TROOP

Frederick James Troop passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on January 1, 1933, he was a resident of Toronto, Ontario. He is survived by his children, Ian Frederick Troop (Nicole), Alexander William Troop (Paula), and Christine Isabella Redmond (Ken); his grandchildren, Spencer (Jenna), Sofia, Sarah (Josh), Bobby (Janelle), Thomas (Olivia), Isabella (Dan), Alexandra, Robert, and Kenny; and his great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabella Alexander. After her passing, he found companionship in Clelia, with whom he enjoyed many trips over the past 10 years. Frederick's career in the investment industry spanned many years, including time as the Chief Financial Officer at Burns Bros. & Denton and a partner at BMO Nesbitt Burns. He graduated from Queens University in 1954 with a degree in Commerce and earned his CA at Clarkson Gordon. His philanthropic efforts included support for Northumberland Hills Hospital, Trinity United Church, Cobourg, and other causes. Funeral arrangements will be handled by MACCOUBREY FUNERAL HOME.
