EVA WICK

Eva Wick, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026. Born in Moragy, Hungary, she embarked on a remarkable journey across continents. In 1948, she migrated to Germany, and in 1954, she made Canada her home. A devoted mother and daughter, Eva lovingly cared for her mother, Eva Wick Sr., until her passing in 2012, at the age of ninety-nine. She raised her son, Roy Wick, single-handedly and with the support of her mother, demonstrating strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication following the passing of her spouse, when Roy was 4 years old. Eva's greatest devotion was to her family in later years, taking care of her mother for extensive hours at hospitals and then at home, until her mother reached the age of ninety-nine, allowing her mother to pass at home. She was a dedicated Lutheran and attended and helped out at the First Lutheran Church services in whatever modest ways she could. Eva's legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and perseverance. Her kindness and devotion will be remembered by all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. A funeral will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Toronto. Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Kidney Foundation. Eva was predeceased by her mother, Eva Wick Sr., and her spouse. She is survived by her son, Roy Wick.
